We were invited by men’s health providers goSpring to design a set of icons to visually illustrate their e-health tech services aimed at improving men’s health. Here is a brief summary of our creative process from ideation to realization.

THE PROJECT: Design iconography for a men’s health platform, striking a balance between visually explaining a sensitive topic in an amicable and human manner that makes the brand approachable to their target audience. According to the medical research undergone by the goSpring team, 30% of men generally avoid visiting the doctor. The goSpring platform has made it its mission to remove this barrier to improve men’s health. With e-health technology, users can receive treatment from licensed doctors in a discreet, convenient and inexpensive way.

Research, Discovery & Proposal

This stage of the process defines the design work that needs to be accomplished including reviewing any existing material, the competitor landscape and a comprehensive presentation of visual examples.

Once 3-5 concepts and proposals were presented, the client decided they wanted to move towards a more minimal design style, such as the icons depicted above. Its adequacy defined by the simplicity, easy-to-comprehend and being well aligned with the brand messaging. All icons were to be designed in both dark and light applications.

Final Result & Deliverables

Once all final details, from the shape, style, colour modes and thickness on all lines, was defined, the final set of icons was prepared for both digital (RGB) and print (CMYK) applications as well as vector files. Final icons were presented as 2D and 3D applications (to give a more detailed picture of how the icons will live in the real world).

Art final deliverables include industry standard bundle of files suitable for every application (including metadata to enhance SEO brand exposure), from print to web to promotional items and more.
