How it worked

Followers and Fans of the designers were invited to take photos and virtually embed the artwork into their environments, transplanting a design from Spain to NYC, or London to LA.

Showcase triggered a universal interest in mobile platforms as an innovative channel of distribution for designers.

Managing to showcase over 25 different designers from 9 different countries, participants include award winning photographers, illustrators, such as Ryan Quincy (South Park, Out There), Mario Wagner (WSJ, Wired, NYT Magazine), and Chocotoy from Venezuela. Beyond exposure, promotion and distribution, this collaborative creative community allowed artists to engage with their fans and ushers in a virtual creative ecosystem that provided a digital extension to designers in the mobile and social landscape.

Fostering a Collaborative Digital Creative Community

Established in April 2013 as a virtual-design showcase, this initiative provided a digital extension to designers in the mobile and social landscape, aiming at promoting a more dynamic and collaborative creative culture.

Designers, Artists & illustrators were invited to make their artwork available on a mobile app that allows users to layer virtual content onto their photos and share these on social media. It triggered a universal interest in mobile platforms as an innovative channel of distribution for designers and gathered world-wide participation by visual designers keen to capitalize on mobile photo-sharing trends.
